May 2019 Events!

Maypoles honestly confuse the bejeezus out of me. I don't understand how they work, even though it seems like it must be very simple...

Hey guys! Happy May! This month is full to bursting with all kinds of awesome events and celebrations! Click READ MORE to find out what will be going on at Kards Unlimited!

May is Get Caught Reading Month! All throughout May take your books/periodicals/ereaders/tarot cards to all kinds of illicit places and try to Get Caught Reading!

This is Fred Weasley. He is a hefty boy. But v. sweet.

First and foremost, the first week of May will make up the bulk of Children's Book Week! It's the 100th Anniversary of the event, so we are going ham. All throughout the week, we'll have a photobooth set up so you can come in and have your picture taken with your favorite kids book! Also, on Sunday 5/5 we'll have story time with Blair and Fred Weasley (the dog, not the wizard)!

Also in the first week of May we'll be celebrating May Day and Mother Goose Day (5/1); Battle of Hogwarts/International Harry Potter Day and the National Day of Reason (5/2); National Wordsmith Day, National Public Radio Day, Paranormal Day, No Pants Day, and International Space Day (deep breath) (5/3); May the Fourth (i.e. Star Wars Day), Cinco de Cuatro, World Naked Gardening Day, and the Kentucky Derby (5/4); Cinco de Mayo, World Laughter Day, the Pittsburgh Marathon, and the beginning of Ramadan (5/5); Nurse's Day and the beginning of Teacher Appreciation Week (5/6-5/10) (5/6); and International Tell Your Crush Day (5/7)!
