Punctuation Day
Blank Inside

September 24th is Punctuation Day! Proper punctuation can provide real meat to your prose: colons introduce a list; semicolons join related thoughts. Parentheses, brackets and braces (when used correctly [but not excessively {like this}]) clarify meaning. Commas separate clauses, serialize lists and more. Periods declare statements. The dash—the most dynamic of punctuation—inserts an important extra thought. An apostrophe’s purpose isn’t just for contractions but also to apply ownership. The word-binding hyphen streamlines sentences. As for the ellipsis… well, some things are better left omitted. I bet you’re thinking, “What about quotation marks?” Well we need those for attributing speech, and question marks are for inquisitions! You know I’m excited because of the exclamation points! With all 14 of these powers combined you can write the most epic of novels… or at least a sweet card.
This card was designed by a Kards Unlimited Worker Bee, because we are all giant nerds! Printed in Pgh! 5”x 7”.
